The Huawei SSN6GSCC (Product Code: 03020TLC) is a high-performance System Control and Communication (GSCC) board designed for Huawei's OptiX OSN3500 and OSN7500 multi-service optical transmission platforms. It is also compatible with OSN2500 and OSN1500 series systems.

As the intelligent core management unit of the network element (NE), the GSCC board handles system control, clock synchronization, communication management, and configuration management. It performs service configuration and grooming functions, monitors service performance, and collects information about performance events and alarms. The SSN6GSCC is the N6 functional version of the GSCC series, succeeding the N1, N3, and N4 versions. It is typically deployed in a 1+1 active/standby redundancy configuration for carrier-grade reliability.

Functional Architecture
  • Communication & Control Module: Controls and manages all boards within the subrack; handles NE communication via DCC channels; transmits OAM information to other NEs; reports alarms and performance data to the network management terminal; responds to commands from the NMS

  • Overhead Processing Module: Receives overhead signals from line slots; processes E1, E2, F1, and Serial 1–4 bytes; sends overhead signals to line boards; provides external interfaces including orderwire, F1, and serial data ports

  • Power Module: Monitors power supply status and reports power-related alarms

  • Clock Module: Provides system-level clock source selection and distribution; supports IEEE 1588 V2 high-precision synchronization

Important Notes
  • Redundancy Configuration: It is highly recommended to configure two GSCC boards in 1+1 active/standby mode for carrier-grade reliability. While a single GSCC board can operate independently, this is not recommended for production environments.

  • Mixed Version Restriction: If GSCC boards are used in packet systems, both N6GSCC boards must be of the same version when configured in 1+1 backup mode.

  • Version Substitution: GSCC boards of different versions cannot directly substitute for each other. If a later version GSCC needs to replace an earlier version, the NE software must be upgraded accordingly.

  • Interface Availability: The GSCC board provides no external ports on its front panel; all interfaces (Ethernet, F&f, F1, OAM) are routed through the AUX/EOW board.

  • Compatibility Verification: Compatibility depends on the specific chassis model and system software release. Always verify compatibility with your supplier before purchasing
